For compacted lawns:
In early spring, remove lawn thatch by cutting lawn short with a lawn mower. Using a Mechanical or hand spiker or for small areas, a garden fork, spike the lawn to a depth of 150mm. Apply a 5mm-10mm layer of lawndressing using a garden rake and water well after application.
If the lawn is not compacted:
